Lifting your potential through
research and community

Turn your summer into an opportunity to grow, explore, and connect

The Tairangatia Summer Research Scholarships and Stage One Research Awards support Māori and Pacific students to explore research in a way that connects knowledge, community, and purpose. Over the summer, you’ll work alongside academic mentors on real-world projects that make a difference for our people and our environment.

These programmes are about more than research – they’re about whakawhanaungatanga, confidence, and discovering your place in the research world. Scholars come together to share ideas, learn new skills, and celebrate their achievements with peers and whānau at our annual presentations.

Whether you’re taking your first step into research or building toward postgraduate study, these programmes offer a pathway to grow, belong, and thrive.

Applications for the 2025-2026 Summer Research Programme have now closed. Contact us to join the mailing list and be the first to hear about next year’s opportunities.
